Web Design
I enjoy working with those who may be intimidated by visiting a large technology group or media/graphics company for
a simple web site idea of theirs. Many folks simply want to be on the web and are not familiar enough with the terminology
and don't really know what to 'order' from a web designer. Some are lucky and have a friend or relative who will do
the job and relieve them of being embarssed or feeling stupid as they're interviewed by the technology group.

I'm often surprised at the truly good ideas that these types of people have on their mind. That is, while they may not be
very savvy on the computer...they can really shine at their hobby, career, sport, or at collecting their favorite...whatever.
You see, I don't know anything about, let's say, beekeeping. Well, a beekeeper in Gray, TN or Boones Creek may want to share his or her fun with other beekeepers around the area or world, post hive pictures, share honey gathering tips, & even sell jars of that hard earned honey that they broke their back trying to store on a shelf till the next yard sale. Does this beekeeper need to visit a web design group & learn all about search engines, networks, hosting, and on and on...not really.

I would rather go visit the beekeeper on his turf and be surrounded by the beekeeping hobby. How better to learn
ways of conveying his passion than by touching and feeling the subject of his web site. The years of beekeeping experince on his part will more than supply the content while the the buzzing bees, the golden honey, and the feel of the gloves on my hands will have my senses overloaded with design visuals sparking colors and shapes all around in my head. What a harvest of design resources there is when a customer has me come to them to share in the reason why their web site should exist.
Prints for Framing & The Printed Media
Let's take a nice picture of your son playing football or your daughter cheerleading at competition. The subject in your
picture is already perfect...it's your kid. So, what your print design involves is me pulling out the theme or event with
graphics that simply add to the picture's focal point...and not compete with it. Click here for a before & after example
of a print design I did for some mothers of Boones Creek Middle School cheerleaders in Gray, TN. Glance over some
of your own pictures and see if there's a shot from a wedding, an 8th grade prom, or school band concert...how about
a new version of it with some graphic design added then printed for framing or for your wallet.
Photography
"Don't you see the shot in that?" I ofter ask those around me usually followed by, "Where's my camera batteries!"
As with web design, many folks don't need a collection of portraits taken or a wedding photographed. Often, they
only need their home shot for the local realtor, their car shot for a proud wallet print, or some of their best flowers
photographed while in bloom. There's plenty of 'reality' photography for someone like me. All it took was
for me to shoot my parents' garden of imported flowers, and then for their friends at the gourd club, and so on for
it to be clear that some people simply want something photographed and it need not be a glamour shot. I do enjoy
the process of posing someone or composing a shot of a simple fire hall or barn seen everyday by passersby. It's
funny how the venacular that results from functional design is adored when shot and framed.
While most of my photography is copywritten or personal on someone else's part, I've posted a few other shots here.

Simply Put
I enjoy exercising the creative eye that I've been blessed with for all these years. Putting it to the service of others
provides a satisfaction of using & sharpening my talents while gaining new experiences to express. A better way to
put it is to say that I'm a healthy horse awaiting a plow to pull. While there are plenty of web design groups, computer
technology centers, and information technology companies that will easily supply you with rates and specifications of
what they'll do...I find that It's about you finding someone who can tell your story or express your passion through
conversation and exposure to your subject. That's something that scanning brocures and reading wikipedia can't.
